About the Event

The 175-acre Grassy Creek Regional Park, one of the City’s largest Parks, is located on the far eastside near 30th Street and German Church Road.  The park site includes trails and an extensive wetland system and will be one of the major community destinations along the planned Grassy Creek Greenway.  Indianapolis Land Stewardship works to preserve the wetland and its habitats in order to balance the need for important wildlife corridors and habitat with the various recreational opportunities in an underserved community.  Their efforts including the control of invasive species; planting of native trees, wildflowers, and shrubs; and other habitat improvements to support conservation and preservation of ecosystem within the park.  Join a Land Stewardship ecologist for a hike through this unique environmental habitat.  The hike is free, but registration is required.
